Everyone Plays at Faraja

January was an exciting month at Faraja Primary School! Students, staff, and friends from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania and the Faraja Fund Foundation came together to dedicate an amazing new outdoor therapy center.

This beautiful play area — designed and constructed by IBES Letera Workshop in Usa River, Tanzania — was created specifically for children with physical disabilities. It includes traditional playground pieces like swings and a seesaw, as well as special pieces that build balance, coordination, and strength. A custom swing and carousel accommodate children who use wheelchairs.

The project was funded by the Vermylen family in memory of their mother and grandmother, Nancy Vermylen. FFF Board Vice Chairman David Vermylen and his son, Dr. David Vermylen, represented the family at the dedication ceremony.

Thanks to the Vermylen family and the IBES Letera Workshop team, Faraja students are growing stronger and having fun.
