Faraja Primary School celebrates its 20th Anniversary this year and we are giving you a look back in photos to the school's dedication in 2001.

It's amazing to think about everything that has been accomplished and all the lives that have been changed for the better in the past 20 years!

The sign over the entrance in the first photo above reads: School for children with physical disabilities, Faraja, Built in memory of Mabel Swanson. Also pictured are students enjoying the dedication with Faraja founders Don and Joann Tolmie and Pastor Dwayne Westermann leading a procession to the dedication ceremony. The Tolmies can also be seen with their son, John, as well as with Pastor Bill Trexler and his wife, Karla.

Through this school, standing in the shadows of Mt. Kilimanjaro, hundreds of children have been given the opportunity for a better life. The academic success of the students has surprised education and government officials.

Authors Mitch Engel and Mike Conklin have documented the story in a way that will touch your heart. The photos are both breathtaking and heartwarming … and readers should never doubt the huge impact that can be made by humble individuals with noble intentions.
