Faraja Students Need Sponsors!
Will you support the transformational work of Faraja Primary School by sponsoring a student? Through our sponsorship program, you will be assigned a specific student and receive correspondence, pictures and updates throughout the year. Many of our sponsors form close relationships with their student(s) and sponsors who have children often teach life lessons by encouraging them to share in the experience.
You can choose: Monthly sponsorship - $125 Quarterly sponsorship - $375 Annual sponsorship - $1,500 Barua kutoka moyoni inaweza kusomwa kwenye uso This is a Swahili proverb meaning "a letter from the heart can be read on the face." Letters from sponsors who are a vital part of Faraja are a great way to stay in touch!
Class 7 Spotlight
Saluting our Class 7 students during their final year at Faraja Class 7 students are preparing for the PSLE (Primary School Leaving Exam) and graduation in September. We're featuring Ramadhani and Latifa this month.
Ramadhani comes from the village of Naibili, not far from the Faraja School and the larger town of Sanya Juu in the Kilimanjaro region of northern Tanzania.
Ramadhani has paraplegia and uses a wheelchair. At Faraja, he was given a wheelchair appropriate for his growing frame. He also receives regular physical therapy. Ramadhani is full of energy and a bright student. He has many friends at Faraja and one day hopes to be a mechanic.
Latifa won the top student award for her class in the first semester of 2021. She comes from the Singida region of central Tanzania and is one of seven children. Latifa’s parents, Mohamed and Mayasa, own a four acre farm where they grow millet, sunflowers and food for their family.
Latifa was born with multiple deformities of her arms and legs. She has had surgeries to correct some of these deformities. Physical therapist Emil helps Latifa improve her mobility. Although she is shy, Latifa likes school work, playing games and participating in school activities with her classmates.
